Cooper Wedding || Wrightsville Manor

Wrightsville Manor • Charlotte, NC Wedding Photographer

Mel and Tyler (who goes by Cooper) waited a very long time for their wedding at Wrightsville Manor. They met in college in uptown Charlotte. Mel was in a position where she was up the river without a paddle and needed a ride, and Coop obliged willingly, hoping it would give him a chance to talk to the pretty girl at the part. It worked. Noe four years later, they are homeowners and proud parents of a dog and cat. They have weathered storms of loss together, they have celebrated victories, and finally are getting to share the last name.

This couple opted to do a first look. Cooper knew he would be emotional the first time he saw Mel and didn't want to burst into tears in front of a massive crowd of people.

They met under a huge weeping willow tree on the grounds of the Wrightsville manor before their ceremony to hug, laugh, and get the photos out of the way. Their ceremony was stunning. They had a professional violinist, a polaroid guestbook, and blankets if it got cold.

They had an oyster bar and a cigar rolling station, along with signature drinks named after their dogs for the cocktail hour. After I took all the necessary family photos, the bride and groom hid out in a back room for a quiet moment before entering their reception so they could snack and take a breath.

I took this lull in the timeline to take the gorgeous detailed photos of their reception. It was indeed a lovely event. At the beginning of the reception, Cooper said a few thanks to all the people who came out. This speech brought me and everyone in the room to tears. They ate, danced, drank, and ran out to a bubble send-off into a waiting vintage Rolls Royce at the end of the night. It was a fantastic thing to witness.
