Chase & Elle Sunrise Elopement
Black Balsam Knob • Asheville, NC • Elopement Photographer
Chase and Elle had a big beautiful wedding planned in April 2020. Those plans became scattered to the dust in the light of the COVID-19 Pandemic. The two still had a desire to get married this year despite the setbacks. After a few meetings and some planning, we decided that an elopement with their close family at Black Balsam Knob near Asheville, NC, would be the perfect backdrop for them to say their vows.
We all drove up from Charlotte the day before to scout the location and decide where we will be meeting the next morning. Chase and Elle had so much fun hiking and picking out the perfect spot to hold the ceremony.
They picked the most beautiful spot to exchange their vows. The weather was perfect despite the storm that raged the night before. We met at the bottom of the trail at 7:00 am. It was a little windy, but that's what I like to call "model wind," which is perfect for photography. When we got to the top of the mountain, the clouds were rolling away. The scene in the distance, with the sunrise peeking through the clouds, created a spectacular backdrop during their ceremony. The love these two shared was so apparent. You could feel it in the air and see it all over their faces. Getting to share these moments with my clients brings me unparalleled joy.
When their families started to head down the mountain to prepare the ceremony at their cabin in Brevard, I got to take some images of them alone. They took a deep breath and held each other, all they could say over and over again was “i can’t believe we are married.” It was romantic, and sweet. I am so lucky to have captured these moments for them. From humble beginning meeting at Carolina Rebellion (a metal concert) these two grew together and into the most beautiful kind of love.
