Destiny & Dan Foggy Mountain-top Session
Couples Photographer • Charlotte, NC
Destiny and Dan reached out to me about having a few couples portraits taken in the breathtaking mountains of North Carolina. I can never pass up a good excuse to go to the mountains so I hopped in my car (which at the time had no AC) and hit the road. Driving out of the Charlotte area which was 90+ degrees and into the cool shaded blue ridge hills was welcomed. I was relieved to go to be headed to the high country.
We were planning on a stunning summer sunrise at Black Balsam, however, when I woke up and unzipped my tent, the mountain was blanketed in fog. I tried to not be too disappointed, but the night before I saw the most unbelievable student and I was hoping the morning sun would top it.
I made my way at dawn to the bottom of the trail and due to the poor cell reception, and GPS errors we started almost an hour off time. I am one to believe in serendipity and happy accidents. Because of our late start time, when we reached the top of the mountain the fog pulled back over the mountain tops and revealed the most gorgeous view. I wanted to cry and dance I was so happy (this is the scenery photographer hope and pray for).
This session was so beautiful and heartfelt, you could really feel the love in each shot. I am thankful that Dan and Destiny got lost in the morning, otherwise we wouldn’t have had this incredible, unforgettable scenery to serve as the backdrop for their session.
