Ever since I hiked this mountain during the summer I knew I wanted to bring a couple back here. I just had to find a fun-loving couple adventurous enough, who didn’t mind driving outside the Charlotte city limits. Lucky for me Mel and Tyler reached out about having me photograph their engagement session in March.

I was going to be in the Linville area for a workshop on Sunday so I pitched the idea of a mountain top engagement session. They were all for it! We met early at the trailhead to offer us some time to get up the mountain, get settled and catch our breath. Right as sun was setting low in the sky I was holding up a blanket so the two could change into their engagement outfits.

Although the wind was chilly, we couldn’t have asked for better weather and sunshine. The love these two have for each other shone through every frame and it was truly heart warming to work with them. What I loved the most about this session was that during the time we spent hiking it got to know both of them on a deeper level, and I feel like this connection we made shows through their gallery. They filled my adventurous heart with so much joy during this session, and I can not wait to be a part of their wedding next year.
